Blogging Break~

I’m taking a break from blogging to work on some exciting projects, including our new biohacking platform~.

In the meantime, here’s some of my most popular Autoimmune Protocol recipes from the archive:

  1. Thanks so much for highlighting the caveats to self-treating for MTHFR mutations. Since I work with 1-on-1 clients as an acupuncturist and functional medicine practitioner, I am often a little frustrated when a new or potential client comes to me wanting help because they’ve done a genetic test and found out they “have MTHFR.” The fact is that we all have the MTHFR gene, and we all have a mutation of that gene in some form or another. Some mutations are neutral, some deleterious, and others beneficial. I am of the opinion that we should really start using the term “gene variation” rather than “gene mutation” because the former better explains what makes each of us unique, while the latter implies some sort of genetically determined lifelong sentence for poor health. The prominent bloggers who are treating the MTHFR gene (and its variations) like a disease are really doing a disservice to the community by spreading fear through pseudo-science. We all have the “cancer gene” too, and I really hope no one goes to offering treatment protocols for that!

I look forward to learning more about the exciting projects you are working on — including your new biohacking platform! 🙂
